Why Men Risk It All for Temporary Satisfaction in an Affair

Relationships are like roller coasters, with ups and downs and the occasional loop-de-loop. But, at times, most would prefer to take a detour.
They are ready to risk it all for temporary satisfaction in their clandestine affairs.
But I’m not here to cry or pass judgment; I’m here to explain why some people try to get a temporary fix even though they are in a committed relationship.
But why would they even consider risking it at all?
Not every cheater has the same reasons. It can vary based on their personality, values, and personal and relationship issues. But that doesn’t mean to say that these factors are justifiable reasons for someone to cheat; they never are; nevertheless, they do.
To break it down even further, here are a few reasons why men risk cheating:
1. Psychological issues
Whatever the case may be, there are several psychological factors that we can’t ignore.
Some guys cheat because the temporary satisfaction helps them deal with their inner demons, such as insecurities, low self-esteem, or a fear of commitment.
2. Boredom
Some people wander off to search for old-fashioned excitement — the thrill of the chase, newfound love, or a way to spice up their “dull relationship.” To them, the relationship has lost its new car smell, and they chose to fix that with a new car freshener every week.
3. Because men encourage other men
Most male friendship groups have this toxic notion of “if I’m doing it, then you should too.” If one of them decides to cheat, all men should either turn a blind eye or join in the fun.
4. Their partner doesn’t appreciate them
Shout out to those men who work to provide. Many men who work hard for their families never receive attention or affection after a hard work day. Thus, they crave such intimacy from other women.
5. Because they think they’re entitled to many women
They feel like women are objects for them to use at any given time. They don’t care about hurting their partner. They only think of themselves and how to prioritize their sexual desires.
Not all who are able will cheat
Not all of them, but some.
And like men can, women, too, are capable of cheating, but not for some of the same reasons as men.
However, men have it rough. Because they’re more prominently known to cheat, all men, even innocent ones, get a bad reputation. As the saying goes, it only takes one rotten apple to ruin the bunch.
For the cheaters,
Cheating may provide temporary satisfaction, similar to eating fast food. It’s satisfying for a short time, but it leaves you feeling unhealthy afterward. However, that won’t stop you from eating a quarter-pounder again, won’t it?
If so, remember that cheating is like putting a band-aid on a leaking faucet. It might stop the drip for a second, but it is not a long-term solution to the problem. It’s a shaky strategy, with guilt, trust issues, and possibly a breakup looming.
