As a Colombian, I can attest that Colombia is a beautiful country to live in. The beaches, the mountainside, the skyline, the modern amenities — it offers the best of nature while at the same time providing the necessities of modern life.

Pros of living in Colombia:

• Slightly lower cost of living compared to most western countries.
• Features beautiful beaches on both the Pacific and Caribbean coasts.
• People are friendly.
• Has a rich culture for you to discover.
• Food is to die for.

Cons of living in Colombia:

• While Colombians can understand and speak a certain level of English, you will need to brush up on your Spanish-speaking skills for seamless communication.
• Safety may be a concern in some areas (only a small part of Colombia).
• Traffic jams can be frustrating.
• Culture shock.
